I began researching the different routes available to becoming a lawyer due to the ever increasing cost of university.

As an apprenticeship with LCF Law provides practical hands-on experience as well as a recognised qualification I decided that this was the best route in the legal profession for me.

Not only that but LCF pay me a wage.

During the initial few months I was taking on mostly administrative tasks such as filing archiving and opening files.

However as my apprenticeship progressed I began completing legal tasks such as research drafting documents and corresponding with clients and other third parties such as the court.

Over the past year and a half I’ve managed to complete my level 3 apprenticeship eight months ahead of schedule and now I have various options available to help me progress.

For example I could opt to become a qualified legal executive or alternatively complete the new solicitor apprenticeship to qualifies as a solicitor after six years.

One of the things that I really enjoy doing is working with the solicitors on client files.

There is a certain rush in following a case from start to finish and preparing documents that you know could end up in front of a judge who will make a decision based upon the information that you provide.

The good thing about doing an apprenticeship with LCF is that I have support and encouragement from my supervisor

I also have an external training provider with whom I have monthly progress meetings with and am able to phone or email with questions about the course work

I have learned so much whilst at LCF Law.

I have no doubt that I made the right choice in choosing an apprenticeship at LCF and would recommend that if you want to get into the legal world that this is an excellent option.
